Some amazing skiing from the best freeskiing kids @ Tahoe!

Located below the Subway chair, Tubeville is a natural playground for adults and kids. There are five lanes located in Tubeville ranging from 200 to 700 feet long. Tubeville will be open Friday through Sunday, from noon to 4pm. The thrills cost only $15 and the smiles are priceless. Come check out Tubeville with the entire family.  To ride Tubeville, all participants must be over 42 inches tall.  For those under 42 inches tall, we have other fun stuff too…The Kiddie Volcano and fun pit!

Watching the kids ski down the little hill for the first time in their colorful parkas and giant goggles is as great a spectator sport as the terrain park. It’s one of the coolest things to see at Alpine!

We have 3 ski school programs that teach kids as young as 3 years old to expert adults. The youngest kids get introduced to skiing in a comfortable warm environment. When they’re old enough for the snow they take their first runs in the arms of one of our expert instructors. From there they move on to the the bigger practice hill and the Meadow lift where they can get safely work up to longer runs and steeper terrain while having a great time.

There’s no terror of loading and riding the chairlift, and no back-breaking hike up the run with your kid in your arms. We have two moving carpet surface lifts that make getting up the hill for beginners easy, fun and fast. This year we’ve added a 200 foot SunKid conveyor to open up that much more terrain for beginning skiers and boarders.

The Tigel Terrain Park was ROCKING Saturday for the Sick & Twisted Lil’ Air Festival. Jonas, our Terrain Park Manager, built up a special kicker just for the kids. The first annual Lil’ Air Mountain Festival was made possible thanks to Toyota, Under Armour Performance, SnowBomb, Alpine Meadows, Roxy Snow, Huck Doll and Zola Acai. Kids 10 years old and younger had their own day on the park. Competition was stiff and everyone has a blast!

The event kicked off @ 11:30 and the kids were flying everywhere! These little guys and girls are amazing! We saw all the tricks: 180s, 360’s, some spread eagles and a few yard sales. Those kids are made of rubber. They all bounced back and had a great time.
After sessioning the kicker for about an hour, the kids took two runs for the crowds. Then we had to drag them into the lodge so we could give them their awards. Everyone was a winner at this year’s Lil’ Air, with all 52 contestants awarded a Huck Doll and Alpine Meadows Hooded Sweatshirt. In addition, a random drawing was held to award more than $1,000 worth of gear from Roxy Snow and Huck Doll.
