Nice weather continues to start this week with sun and highs into the 40′s on the mountain through Wednesday.
There is an approaching cold front for Wednesday night which is tapping some subtropical moisture from a low pressure off the Baja. That feed will cut off and the nice slug of moisture will stop short of the Sierra. We will still see some light snow showers Wednesday night with an inch or two possible on the mountain.
We dry out again Thursday and Friday with more sun ahead of the next system and cold front. There is still a big spread between the forecast models. Some forecast models keep the moisture from a storm off the coast of SoCal to our South as it comes inland Saturday, and then bring 6-9 inches of snow with the cold front Saturday night into Sunday. Other forecast models bring the moisture much further North Friday night into Saturday with up to a foot of snow on the mountain through Saturday. Then bring another 6-12 inches with the cold trough moving in Saturday night through Sunday night.
After this storm we will have some colder air to start next week and maybe an inside slider system with light snow showers for mid-week. Overall we will have another fairly dry pattern for another week or so and then we may see storms start to move through more progressively the first week of February.
