Season total at 124″ with More Coming Before Holidays!

0 Comments 13 December 2012

Alpine Meadows picked up 7 inches overnight up top.  That brings the season total to 124 inches up top.  This is cold and fluffy snow which continues to fall today as low pressure spins down the CA coast.  The 7 inches was measured early this morning so it is deeper out there now and storm totals by tonight could be in the 8-12 inch range.

We have a break on Thursday and then the next system pushes towards the West coast on Friday.  This system is going to split with most of the precipitation going to our North and South.  We could see some clouds and maybe a few flakes.

Then another break Saturday before the next storm approaches later Saturday into Sunday.  The forecast models are still not agreeing on the amount of moisture that will work its way into the Tahoe Basin with this system.  Right now it looks like we will see at least several inches with this cold storm.  Stay tuned for updates.

There are several more cold storms that will drop out of the Gulf of Alaska and into the West Coast.  We could see a storm Tuesday, Thursday, and again the weekend of the 22nd.  This could pile up several more feet of snow before the holidays.  BA
