The blizzard conditions of the weekend are gone, and the sun is even peeking through to illuminate all of the fresh powder today at Alpine Meadows.
With all the snow this weekend’s storm brought to the Lake Tahoe region over the last couple days, it’s stacking up deep – with over five feet of new snow up top contributing to the already more than 11-foot base – and it’s not even January!
Sunday night’s contribution wasn’t the heavy wet stuff either, making for perfect powder turns.
Forecasters are predicting the hits will keep coming, too, with another 2-3 feet possible before Christmas.
After a stormy weekend, our Mountain Operations crew was able to open up almost all of the mountain today, including the first day for Alpine’s legendary Sherwood Express chair on the backside, as well as Summit, Roundhouse, Scott, Yellow, Meadow and Hotwheels.
So come on out to Alpine Meadows to take advantage of the epic early winter, and tell ‘em Ullr* sent you.
