Every spring, for the past 15 years, my wife and I come to Lake Tahoe from Washington, DC to visit friends, ski Alpine Meadows, and become locals for the week. Our kids, Alex (10) and Zoe (7) have accompanied us to Lake Tahoe since birth and have skied Alpine Meadows since the age of three. Due to the great lessons and patience of the Alpine Meadows staff over the years, our kids have the same love for skiing that their parents have, race on a ski team back east, and can keep up with their local Lake Tahoe friends on the slopes. It is such a rush to ski with them down Wolverine Bowl, Waterfall, or even Palisades and see how much their skiing has improved. When we ski on the east coast and people ask them where did you learn to ski or what is your home mountain they simply reply, Alpine Meadows.
