Two years ago, after sitting in the bar and chatting with Randy, I decided to go where I have never been before. Since it was mid-week, I climbed onto the Summit Six, got off and then hiked to the top. There I found scenery I could only have imagined up to that point. Glorious beauty and a powdery heaven. I was alone. I wasn’t sure where I would end up. But giddy with the glee of a 5 year old, I tore down that mountain, laughing and soaring like I haven’t done before. I have been down that road many times since and taken many friends with me. But nothing will ever compare to that first run down the backside. Just me and the mountain.
