Skiing was excellent this morning at Alpine. We enjoyed some great fast turns on the perfectly groomed slopes. D6 was in good winter condition, as were some of the other north facing slopes.

Watching the kids ski down the little hill for the first time in their colorful parkas and giant goggles is as great a spectator sport as the terrain park. It’s one of the coolest things to see at Alpine!

There truly is no real way for me to capture the spirit and history of today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Werner’s Schuss trail. This fall, Alpine Meadows held a trail renaming contest for three trails; and among them was Blue Trail. Melanie Jackson won her suggestion to rename Blue Trail to Werner’s Schuss.
