Alpine Meadows opens TOMORROW thanks to the efforts of our snowmaking team who have been burning the midnight snowmobile oil for the last few weeks to get the base ready for shredding.
Dave “Rasta” Thatcher, our Snowmaking Manager explains what goes into making snow, from the compressed water and air, to the early hours to the insane weather they create to put down a bed of SNOW!
Graveyard Snowmaker, Peter “Minxy” Minks has been with Alpine for 16 years and is one of the coolest dudes you’ll run into here. We call him Foul Weather Minxy, cause on the coldest, nastiest nights @ Tahoe he’s the first to jump on a snowmobile to get it done!
Thanks to Rasta nd Minxy and the rest of the Alpine Snowmaking team! See you tomorrow for opening day!
Thanks to the Alpine Meadows snow makers, we can start skiing tomorrow! From this tele skier, I really appreciate all of your efforts and now giving us a reason for these cold days. Giddy up Alpine! Got to go, now I have some boards to wax!!
